After a long setup and many weeks of preparation, we are absolutely overjoyed with the response to our Battle of Britain exhibition on the August Bank Holiday. The turnout was incredible—so many people came through the doors, not only to view the displays but to stop, chat, and ask thoughtful questions about the Isle of Wight’s role during this pivotal moment in history.

It means a great deal to us at Restore the Story to see such enthusiasm for preserving and sharing our island’s heritage. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited, purchased our booklets, and helped support our work. An extra special thanks goes to those who kindly loaned us treasured items, allowing us to showcase personal stories and artefacts that made the exhibition so meaningful.

We’d also like to give a big thank you to Archie and everyone at the White Lion pub in Niton for providing us with the space to bring this exhibition to life. This project has been a true community effort, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
