Restore the Story Returns to Newport Summer Fayre 2026

We are delighted to announce that Jo and Steve of Restore the Story CIC have once again been invited to attend the Newport & Carisbrooke Community Council Summer Fayre with an exhibition stand this year.

When we were asked to take part again, there was one small request — could we focus this year’s exhibition on Newport?

So that’s exactly what we’ve done.

Over the past months we have been researching, uncovering, and piecing together a fascinating exhibition centred around Newport’s story and heritage. It has led us down some very interesting paths, revealing details and connections that many people may never have seen before.

Of course, there’s one catch…

We’re keeping the exact subject a secret for now.

You’ll have to come along and visit our stand to discover what we’ve been working on.

What we can say is that this has become one of our most thoroughly researched and engaging exhibitions yet, and we’re incredibly excited to finally share it with the community.

The Newport & Carisbrooke Community Council Summer Fayre 2026 takes place on Saturday 30th May, from 10am to 4pm at Victoria Recreation Ground in Newport. The event promises a fantastic day for all ages, with free entry, free parking, live entertainment, historical displays, family activities, BMX stunt performances, a dog show, wildlife experiences, and much more.

It’s always wonderful to see the community come together, and we’re proud to once again be part of such a vibrant local event celebrating Newport and the wider area.
